| The hand wheel
on this Singer 24-50 has a shallow belt groove in it. The Singer
24-50 parts manual lists wheel #22409 (see Singer photo) for this
machine, and it is a smooth wheel without a belt groove. Possibly,
the belt groove in this hand wheel was added with a lathe to provide for
an external motor not mounted under the machine. Note that the
wheel in the Singer Parts Chart photo is of the back side of the
wheel. The normal belt pulley is still on the machine in the
normal position. |

| This machine
and cabinet recently arrived from a pair of local owners, and have been
combined into one unit.
The cabinet is a model 49. The mechanism turns freely,
but it's unknown if the machine sews.
The green plastic base shown on the machine has been removed, and I
haven't gotten a photo of the new combination together. |

| This machine
was originally an electric model 201K3. The motor, light, and
solid hand wheel were removed and a Singer spoked hand wheel (from a
Singer 66) and a Singer hand crank (from a Singer 28K1) was added.
It appears to be a re-paint. There are paperclip decals on the arm,
but no decals at all on the bed. |

The tops are interchangable with
the removal of 4 wood screws. Top #1 - From a Singer Model 56
(electric) cabinet surface. Accepts standard Singer full-size
flatbed machines. Top #2 - The extension leaf of the Singer
Model 56 (electric) cabinet, inverted and set up with a belt groove near
the front of the surface (for a serger location). MUTT weight with
this top (without serger) is about 35 pounds. |
| This
treadle stand was originally a Singer Model 46912 pressed tubular steel
leg stand (as far as I know). The original cabinet has been removed,
along with the dress guard. The stand will be used with a variety
of tops to facilitate a number of different machines, and was especially
created for hauling and packing with mobility in mind. Weight and size are
kept to a minimum for handling. It's intended use will be at Quilt
Shows, Craft Shows, Fairs, and other booth-type venues and events. |
